I've always loved finding products that are the right balance of practicality and fun and of modern and timeless. I'm glad you brought up the comparison to Toyotas, I think it's a great analog. I think that balance is one of the reasons I love my FJ. It's doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the top-of-the-line cars had, but it has everything that it needs to do it's job. It's dependable, does what you want it to, and you can have fun with it. And it like the g-shock has aged into a classic.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, you're spot on about the FJ. That car is really similar to the G-Shock in terms of its design and use case. Oddly enough, they're both Japanese. There's a reason why those FJs are so desireable, and will continue to be so.

Curious. What do you wear it with?

Great question. I wear a black t-shirt and pants every day, so the G pairs perfectly with my attire. But I'll be sure to wear it with a suit when I can lol.

Every time you write an article about watches it makes me want to buy one. My darn skin just gets so irritated by all bands that I've tried.

Sorry for the temptation. You may want to check out the GW-5000U. It has a super high-quality strap that isn't like the cheap resin found on other Casios. I appreciate you reading my articles, dude!
